We were invited to teach two improv workshops for high school students from high schools across the island. Aaron went to teach two full workshops (20 students each!) of high school thespians from theaters across the island.

In “Be Extra! (Better Silent Support)”, Aaron led the workshop teaching the students how to silently support a scene by using physicality and interaction to create a more engaging and enveloping stage picture for the audience. The young thespians figured out on their own how to silently give status, change the situation, add relationship, and react to heighten the dialogue.

The second workshop “We See…” taught world building through scene painting to create instant, interactive, and engaging “set” for free that the audience could see the more time we spent in them. The thespians discovered that smell, lighting, height were all part as important as what was “on the set”.
